Serien // series
Trotzdem habe ich meine Favoriten auf drei Serien reduziert. Nicht alle sind Neuheiten, aber für mich haben sie neue Welten eröffnet!
Nevertheless I reduced my faves to three shows. Not all of them are really new, but they were new to me and let me discover new worlds I hadn’t known before!
„Doctor Who“ wird wohl meine größte Entdeckung in diesem Jahr sein. Ich weiß, ich weiß, ich bin sehr spät auf diesen Zug aufgesprungen, aber besser spät als nie, richtig?
Das Universum, die TARDIS, der Doktor und seine Begleiter, haben mich so in ihren Bann gezogen, dass ich mir ein Leben ohne sie nicht mehr vorstellen kann.
Außerdem habe ich herausgefunden, dass ich das hoffnungsloste Matt Smith Fangirl auf diesem Planeten bin. Seine Regeneration hat mich beide Male die ich sie nun schon angeschaut habe, so sehr zum Heulen gebracht, dass ich Peter Capaldi zu Anfang kaum ertragen konnte.

„Doctor Who“ (as I foreshadowed in my last post) might have been my biggest discovery in 2017. I know, I know, nothing new and I hopped onto the train way too late, but better late than never, right?
The universe, the TARDIS, the Doctor and his companions had me hooked right from the start. I seriously don’t know how I survived so long without them.
I also found out for myself, that I am the most hopeless Matt Smith fangirl on this planet. His regeneration had me ugly crying both times I’ve watched it and after the first time, I think I cried two or three episodes of the first Peter Capaldi season, just because he wasn’t number 11.

Dank Matt Smith Begeisterung, habe ich auch „The Crown“ für mich entdeckt und bin süchtig! Ich glaube, ich kenne bald den Stammbaum der königlichen Familie Englands auswendig, habe all ihre Wikipedia-Artikel gelesen und würde am liebsten Teil des Australischen Stammes werden, der Prince Philip als Gottheit verehrt.
Die Serie ist einfach wahnsinnig gut gemacht, ich will unbedingt auch den Royal-Accent lernen und bin von jedem einzelnen Schauspieler und seiner Leistung hin und weg. Obwohl ich dem Cast-Wechsel für die kommenden Staffeln hinterher trauere, bin ich auch gespannt, wie es weitergehen wird. Ich habe so viel neues, geschichtliches gelernt, was ich vorher nicht über mein Lieblingsland England wusste.
Thanks to Matt Smith and my fangirling, I started watching „The Crown“. And I’m addicted. I think, I’ll soon know the family tree of the Royal Family by heart. I also read all of their wikipedias and I honestly wanna become part of the Australian tribe that worships Prince Philip as a god.
The show is so well made and I would love to learn the royal accent. I am just in awe of all the actresses and actors and how good they are at their jobs. Although I’m sad about the change of the cast for the coming seasons (I had to say goodbye to Matt Smith. AGAIN!), I’m looking forward to seeing how the story goes on. I found out so much new, historical stuff I didn’t know about my favourite country, that I’m interested in what the next seasons have in store for me.

Nichts hat mich jemals mehr verwirrt und zu gleich belustigt, als diese Serie!
Nicht nur sehe ich jetzt in allem die Verbindung zum großen Ganzen, sondern habe auch meine Liebe für sehr knallig bunte Lederjacken entdeckt.
Ich liebe Elijah Wood und seine großen, verwirrten, blauen Frodo-Augen! Und ich glaube Jade Eshete ist eine der wunderschönsten Frauen, die ich jemals gesehen habe. Gebt mir Gangster, Zeitreisende, Pizza, witzige Dialoge und ein Wirrwarr aus scheinbar nicht miteinander zu verbindende Ereignisse und ich bin dabei!
Dass die zweite Staffel in wenigen Tagen auf Netflix erscheint, nur zwei Tage nachdem ich meine Präsentation in einem meiner Seminare halten muss und etwas Entspannung und Unterhaltung gebrauchen kann, kann kein Zufall sein!

Never before has anything ever confused and entertained me as much as this series! And doing both at the same time, too.
Not only do I see connections to the bigger picture in everything now, but I also discovered my love for very bright and colourful leather jackets.
I just love Elijah Wood and his big, puzzled, blue Frodo-eyes! Also I think I seldom saw a more beautiful woman than Jade Eshete, seriously, she is a goddess. Give me gangsters, time travel, pizza, hilarious dialogues and a big chaos that seemingly has nothing to do with anything and I’m your girl!
The second season will be up on Netflix in a couple of days, only two days after my presentation about Jane Austen. I can really do with some funny relaxation then. Coincidence? I think not!
